Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question:
Who will be our guide?

Answer:
Me, Capt. Jay Peeler. I do not employ others to guide for me.

Question:
How much experience do you have?

Answer:
I have been guiding out of Goodland (Marco Island) for 16 years.

Question:
What time does the charter start?

Answer:
Except during extremely busy times during our season (January - May) I prefer to select the optimum tide and fish during that period.

Question:
When is the best time to fish?

Answer:
I fish every day of the year except Sundays and it's always better to select the best tide. Insofar as time of year is concerned, April through November is best.

Question:
What should we bring?

Answer:
Nothing but sunscreen unless you want to drink something other than water. I provide cold water.

Question:
Should we bring fishing gear?

Answer:
No. I provide top of the line tackle, Loomis and St. Croix Rods, Penn and Shimano Reels.

Question:
How many anglers can you accommodate?

Answer:
Three.

Question:
What kind of boat do you have?

Answer:
A 22' ShearWater. It drafts 11" and is the finest backwater boat on the market.

Question:
Will bad weather cancel the charter?

Answer:
Sure, this is supposed to be fun, not torture, but I'll make the call. Our weather can be fickle.
